Tile quantity planning starts with the surface that will receive one tile product. Keep floor zones, wall faces, openings, allowance and carton rounding visible so a reviewer can reproduce the order.

Which tile quantity tool is available?

The Tile Calculator measures one rectangular floor or wall surface, or accepts a separately checked known area. It deducts up to 2 rectangular opening groups, applies an entered allowance and calculates a whole-carton order from current package coverage.

A second quantity basis uses verified rectangular tile-face dimensions. It gives a whole-tile planning count and can calculate cartons when the current pieces-per-carton value is known.

Which records should you collect?

• Surface identifier, length, width or accepted known area.
• Door, window and untiled-zone dimensions with quantities.
• Manufacturer, product, size, color, finish and production-lot information.
• Coverage and pieces per carton from the current label or product record.
• Approved layout, allowance basis, trim schedule and spare-stock decision.

Run separate calculations when products, colors, sizes, cartons, layouts or allowances change. Combine compatible unrounded areas before whole-carton rounding.

Which decisions remain outside the calculator?

The calculator does not select tile, set joint width, lay out cuts, model offcut reuse, design movement joints, approve a substrate, specify waterproofing, or calculate mortar and grout.

Use current drawings, product data, project specifications, installation standards, seller terms and qualified project decisions. Cutting tasks also need the safety controls that apply to the material, tool and workplace.
